CONRAD, MCKINNEY, WILSON, KLEINBERG

Jeffrey Nolan Conrad, 54, of Phoenix, died at a hospital in Phoenix on April 27, 2005. Memorial services will be held Saturday, 10:30 a.m. at Mansfield-Hertz Funeral Home in Malvern. Rev. Steve McKinney will officiate.

Mr. Conrad was born one of four children to Harry Lynn Conrad and Mildren Lenore (Wilson) in Council Bluffs on June 26, 1950. The family lived on farms in Mills and Montgomery Counties before Mr. Conrad enlisted in the U.S. Navy. After serving on the U.S.S. Ticonderoga as a parachute tester for the Navy at El Centro, Calif., he also took part in the aerospace recovery program. After the Navy, he settled in Arizona. He later began a career as a guard at the State Prison in Florence, Ariz. and Yuma, Ariz. Mr. Conrad saw life a series of adventures, his accounts of which were by turns hair-raising and hilarious.

Preceding Mr. Conrad in death were both sets of grandparents, three uncles and two aunts. He is survived by his parents, Mildred and Harry Conrad of rural Red Oak; brothers Joe Conrad and his wife Marlys of Red Oak and Mark Conrad and his wife Sara of St. Paul, Minn.; sister Martha Kleinberg and her husband Bruce of Sarasota, Fla.; five nephews; two nieces and a host of family and friends.
