Catherine Alice Walker, 91 of Malvern, died at Montgomery County Hospital in Red Oak on April 20, 2005. Services were held April 23 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Hastings. Interment was at Malvern Cemetery.

Mrs. Walker was born July 30, 1913, one of two children to John and Esther (Sipe) Summers in McConnellsburg, Pa. When she was three years old, her family moved to southwestern Iowa. She married Joe Walker in Hamburg, Iowa and established a home on a farm in the area. Their marriage was blessed with three children, Kenneth, Larry and Sandra. The family later moved to the Malvern area. She was a member of the St. John Lutheran Church, the Malvern Senior Citizens and was active in her church and Ladies Aid.

Mrs. Walker was preceded in death by her parents and her husband. She is survived by her children, Kenneth Walker of Shenandoah, Larry Walker of Omaha and Sandra Wooten of Olathe, Kan.; two grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and other relatives and friends.

Mansfield-Hertz Funeral Home in Malvern handles the arrangements.
