Elmer V. Hershey, 77, Pacific Junction

Elmer Verl Hershey, 77, of Pacific Junction, died in Council Bluffs on May 3, 2005. Services were held May 7 at Peterson Mortuary. Reverend Steve Frazee presided.

Mr. Hershey was born April 19, 1928 in Council Bluffs to Verl and Mae (Gillespie) Hershey. He was united in marriage to Helena Sylvia Devers on Dec. 23, 1960. To this union one son, Dwayne, was born. Mr. Hershey faithfully served his country during World War II in the Army Air Corp. He was employed with Burlington Northern Railroad for 30 years and was a railroad union member. He had a passion for collecting trains and taking long walks. He enjoyed helping his sister-in-law, Tammy, plant flowers and he loved cars.

Mr. Hershey was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Lucy White. He is survived by his wife, Helena Hershey of Pacific Junction; son, Dwayne Hershey of Pacific Junction; sister, Wilma Besta of Bellevue, Neb.; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.
