Bessie Coll Evans Tyler, daughter of W.H. and Arvilla Evans, was born August 21, 1881, at Columbus Grove, Ohio.
She came to Mills County with her parents in 1883, and was married to Mr. Lee Tyler January 21, 1903.
There were born to this union two daughters, Arvilla, 9 years old, and Mildred, 4 years old. Mrs. Tyler was converted and joined the U.B. church at Hillsdale twenty years ago. She lived a consistent Christian life until death.
She was a faithful wife and loving mother, kind and loving to all who knew her.
She said just before she passed away that she was going to see her mother, and bidding her husband and children goodbye, peacefully passed away at 12 o’clock May 6, 1914.
She leaves besides her husband and daughters, a father and two sisters, Mrs. Eunice Dwyer and Mrs. Fern Haynes, three brothers, H.E., W.K., and Artie Evans to mourn her death.
Her mother died about three years ago. One sister, Mrs. Hazel Deacon, also preceded her in death.
Services were conducted Saturday, May 9, from the Methodist church at Hillsdale by Rev. Thompson of Glenwood. The building was crowded with relatives and sympathizing friends.
