W. W. Butler died Sunday, May 22, 1904, at the home in Glenwood, Iowa, of his daughter, Mrs. I. E. Newman. The funeral was held at the home on Monday afternoon conducted by Rev. R. E. Shaw of the Methodist church.

The deceased was born April 4, 1816 in Muskingum county, Ohio, being upwards of 88 years of age. He came to Glenwood in 1873. He had been twice married. His first wife died about 33 years ago and the second one some seven years ago.

He leaves seven children, all of whom were present at the funeral. He also leaves 42 grandchildren and 35 great grandchildren, some 84 descendants in all. Grandpa Butler was a kindly old gentleman, beloved by all who knew him.

The children are: Mrs. I. E. Newman, Mrs. Geo. McMillen, Mrs. Mary Walling, Mrs. Hattie Wheeler and L. B. Butler of Glenwood; John and Jacob Butler of Council Bluffs.

Others attending the funeral were: Mrs. Julia Berge, Omaha, granddaughter; Deward and Charles McMillen, Red Oak; Wm. Butler, Plattsmouth, grandsons.
