Raymond W. Lincoln, 85, of Glenwood, Iowa formerly of Pacific Junction, Iowa entered into eternal rest on January 17, 2005 in Omaha, NE. He was born October 13, 1919 in Pacific Junction, Iowa to Marcus de Lafayette and Georgia (Curtis) Lincoln.

Raymond graduated from Pacific Junction High School. He faithfully served his country during WWII in the Army and was the recipient of a purple heart. Raymond was united in marriage to Betty Juliane Doan on March 7, 1949 in Council Bluffs, Iowa. They made their home in Pacific Junction where Raymond farmed for many years. He was also employed as a mechanic for International Harvester, Boyle’s Farm Equipment and the State Highway Commission. He loved farming, his horses and working on tractors. Spending time with his family and grandchildren was something Raymond always enjoyed. His family will always remember his characteristic chuckle.

Raymond was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Betty on March 14, 2000; brothers, Earl Lincoln and Ralph (Pat) Lincoln; and sister, Esther Lemonds. He is survived by his children, Steve and wife Kathie Lincoln of Council Bluffs, Iowa, Douglas Lincoln of Pacific Junction, Iowa, Julie and husband Joe Belt of Glenwood, Iowa; five grandchildren, Jennifer Lincoln, Ryan Lincoln, Brent Lincoln, Lisa Taylor and Amy Reafleng; three sisters, Margaret Mintle of Glenwood, Iowa, Helen Wingfield of Pacific Junction, Iowa, Vera Smith of Firestone, CO; several nieces, nephews and a host of friends.

Funeral services were held at Peterson Mortuary in Glenwood, Iowa on Thursday, January 20, 2005 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Mike Stevens and Pastor Darrell Hopp officiating. Burial was in the Glenwood, Iowa Cemetery.

Memorials go to the Pacific Junction United Methodist Church. Peterson Mortuary in Glenwood was in charge of arrangements.
