Brett Lynn Pace, 46, of rural Glenwood, died Dec. 29, 2004, at his home. Memorial services will be held Thursday, Jan. 13, 6:30 p.m., at the Bible Baptist Church in Glenwood. Pastor Duane Johnson will officiate the services.
Mr. Pace was the son of Lawrence and Ardis (Slaughter) Pace, born Nov. 15, 1958, at his parents’ home near Glenwood. He attended Glenwood High School, where he excelled in the sport of wrestling, winning numerous medals and trophies. After high school, he became the father of Chelsea Thomas and later moved to Athol, Idaho, where he was a member of the Living Water Fellowship Church. During his six years in Athol, he sponsored a 12-step substance abuse group and won the 1991 award for Volunteer of the Year by the Kootenai County Substance Abuse Council. He married Candace Shepherd of Athol on June 21, 1994. Their marriage was blessed with two children. Mr. Pace was fortunate in his lifetime to have traveled to every state of the continental U.S., Mexico and Canada, but Glenwood always held his home, his people and his heart. He died at the same rural Glenwood home in which he was born.
Mr. Pace was preceded in death by his parents and brother Larry. He is survived by children Theron R. Pace and Samantha J. Pace of Red Oak and Chelsea Thomas of The Colony, Texas; brothers John Pace and Theron Pace; sisters Kitty Pace-Hadden, Kathy Brainard and Christine Pace; and other relatives and friends.
