Charlene JoAnn Mayberry, 70, of Glenwood, died Dec. 31, 2004, at her daughter’s home in Papillion, Neb. Funeral services were held Jan. 4, 2005, at the Peterson Mortuary in Glenwood. Pastor Orville Terry officiated the services. Burial was at the Glenwood Cemetery.

Mrs. Mayberry was the daughter of Albert Lee and Josephine Mae (Anshutz) Roberts, born May 28, 1934, in Council Bluffs. She was united in marriage to Ralph Donald Mayberry on Feb. 16, 1957, in Plattsmouth, Neb. She was retired from the Glenwood Resource Center after 30 years of service. She enjoyed being a homemaker after her retirement. She was a member of the First Christian Church in Glenwood. Her children noted that she was always the best mother in the world. She enjoyed crocheting and quilting, and she was a member of the Doll Club. Her favorite times were spent with her family.

Mrs. Mayberry was preceded in death by her parents and granddaughter Elizabeth Mayberry. She is survived by her husband, Ralph (Don) Mayberry of Glenwood; children Jim Ratliff of Omaha, Neb., Kathy Archer of Papillion, Mark Mayberry of Glenwood and Susan Mayberry of Glenwood; grandchildren Aaron Ratliff, Tern Ratliff, Shawn Ratliff, Brittney Ratliff, Aimee Jo Durr, Brian Hamilton, Sheri Archer, Denise Torres, Andrea Mayberry, Cody Mayberry, Brandon Mayberry, Justine Mayberry, David Mayberry, Joe Bacon, Geoff Bacon and Alexander Mayberry; great-grandchildren Taylor and Melanie Durr and Kelsey, Mason and Bailey Poe; brother Albert Lee Roberts of Colorado; sister Doris Wilhelm of Council Bluffs; several nieces and nephews; and a host of friends.

Memorials are suggested to the First Christian Church in Glenwood or the Glenwood’ Public Library. Peterson Mortuary was in charge of arrangements.
