Jerry Louis DeBolt, 53, of Glenwood, died Dec. 31, 2004, at the Alegent Health Mercy Hospital in Council Bluffs. A Mass of Christian Burial was held Jan. 4, 2005, at the Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Glenwood. Rev. Donald Bruck and Rev. Paul Monahan officiated the services. Interment was at the Emerson Cemetery.

Mr. DeBolt was the son of Ardith Dale and Renee Juliette (Dol) DeBolt, born March 20, 1951, in Council Bluffs. He grew up in Stanton, where he graduated from high school in 1969. Following school, he worked on construction projects in the Stanton area. He enlisted in the U.S. Army and served as a military police officer in Okinawa, Japan. In 1976, he returned from the service and moved to Omaha, Neb., where he continued to work in the construction field. He married Teresa Marie McVay on March 24, 1979, in Omaha. They made their home in Omaha and Mr. DeBolt returned to school. While in school, he continued to work on area construction jobs, as a security officer in Council Bluffs and city concrete inspector in Omaha. In 1981, Mr. and Mrs. DeBolt moved to Glenwood and were blessed with three children. Mr. DeBolt continued to work in the construction field and as a concrete inspector for Wilson Concrete in Bellevue, Neb. in 2002, he began work as a housing inspector for the Council Bluffs Municipal Housing Authority. Mr. DeBolt was a member of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church. He enjoyed the outdoors, fishing and hunting. in September 2004, his health forced him to take a leave of absence from his position with the Housing Authority. Mr. and Mrs. DeBolt had been married nearly 26 years when Mr. DeBolt died.

Mr. DeBolt was preceded in death by his father, sister Sandy DeBolt and father-in-law Keith McVay. He is survived by wife Teresa DeBolt of Glenwood daughter Jessica DeBolt of Council Bluffs; sons Jacob DeBolt and Adam DeBolt of Glenwood mother Renee DeBolt of Red Oak; mother-in-law Claudine Frueh of Glenwood sister Sharon DeBolt of Phoenix, Ariz.; brother Nick DeBolt and wife Jean of Lebanon, Mo.; nieces and nephews; and other relatives and friends.

Hertz Funeral Home in Glenwood was in charge of arrangements.
