Mrs. L.E. Williams died at her home in Glenwood Tuesday morning about 3 o’clock after a very severe illness of some weeks duration, preceded by several years of poor health. Her maiden name, as most of our readers know, was Miss Bessie Anderson, she being the oldest child of Wm. H. Anderson, the Glenwood banker who died some twelve years ago. There has been a sad fatality in this family. First the mother died in middle life in 1889, then the father’s death occurred in April, 1891. In October, 1891, Ella Anderson died, while a few months ago the oldest son Will H. Anderson was buried.

Mrs. Williams was born in Plattsmouth April 15, 1867, but has lived in Glenwood the most of her life. She was married to L.E. Williams in Chicago, Dec. 21, 1893. There is left besides her husband, three sisters and two brothers, Mrs. Anna Fisher and John Anderson, Kansas City; Miss Ada Anderson, of Oklahoma; James Anderson, Geneva, Neb.; and Miss Lucile Anderson, Glenwood.

The funeral took place this (Thursday) morning at the home at 10 o’clock. It was conducted mainly by Rev. Herman Burgess of the Plattsmouth Episcopal church, an old friend of the family who has officiated at all The other funerals. He was assisted by Rev. L.D. Brainerd of the Glenwood church and by Dr. C.W. Leftingwell, rector of St. Mary’s Academy, Knoxville, Ill., where the deceased and all her sisters attended school. The singing was a quartette consisting of Mrs. F.E. Donelan, Miss Frances Towslee, Dr. St. Clair and Earl Herrick.

The body was laid to rest in a beautiful white casket, the following acting as pall bearers; Dr. C.H. DeWitt, D.L. Heinsheimer, W.M. Lamb, Glenwood; Myron Wheeler, Lincoln, Neb.; C.W. Russell, Omaha; C.L. Felt, Council Bluffs.

The following attended the funeral from a distance; Mr. and Mrs. C.L. Felt, Council Bluffs; Mr. and Mrs. C. C. Wright, Omaha; Dr. and Mrs. Livingston, Mrs. Theo. Livingston, Mrs. Britt, Mrs. J.R. Cox, Mrs. Edward Ruffner, Plattsmouth; Mrs. E.E. Black, Chicago; Dr. Velura Powell, Red Oak; Miss Faith Evans, Emerson; G.S. Rollett, Roy Arnold, Burlington.
