MOTT, SCOTT, GALE, EGENBERGER, VANLLEWEEN, SMITH, ALLUMBAUGH

Hazel Elizabeth Mott, 95, of Malvern, died Dec. 15, 2004, at Risen Son Christian Village in Council Bluffs. Graveside services were held Dec. 18 at the Silver City Cemetery. Rev. Gordon Scott officiated the services.

Mrs. Mott was the daughter of William and Ione (Dustin) Gale, born Jan. 25, 1909, in Tabor. She was raised in Tabor and attended Tabor College following graduation from high school. She earned her teaching certificate and taught country school for many years. She was united in marriage to John William Mott on June 30, 1938, in Sisseton, S.D. To this union one daughter was born. Mrs. Mott continued to teach and later became a farmwife. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Malvern.

Mrs. Mott was preceded in death by her parents, husband, grandson Jayson and seven brothers and sisters. She is survived by daughter Judie Ann and Ed Egenberger of Lee’s Summit, Mo.; grandson Jon Egenberger of Austin, Texas; brothers Earl Gale of Neola and Harold Gale of Portland, Ore.; sisters Ruth VanLleween of Bellflower, Calif., Jean Smith of Shenandoah and Rosalie Allumbaugh of Hamburg; and several nieces and nephews.

Memorials are suggested to the Malvern Fire and Rescue. Peterson Mortuary in Glenwood was in charge of arrangements.
