Shelby W. Barnett, 60, of Glenwood, died June 28, 2003, at the Manor of Malvern. A memorial service was held July 1, 2003, at the Peterson Mortuary in Glenwood. Rev. Paul Monahan officiated the service. Burial will be at a later date.

Mr. Barnett was the son of Sam and Julia (Casanova) Barnett, born Dec. 28, 1942, in Jackson, Miss. He lived in New Orleans, La., and Council Bluffs before moving to Glenwood in 1998. He married Joan M. Jacobson on Jan. 15, 1999, in Las Vegas, Nev. He was a car salesman for many years. He was of the Catholic faith.

Mr. Barnett was preceded in death by his parents and brothers Francis Barnett and Renee Barnett. He is survived by his wife, Joan M. Barnett of Glenwood daughter Holly Arno of Pacific Junction and son Michael Barnett of Georgia.

Memorials are suggested to the Glenwood Volunteer Fire Department. Peterson Mortuary was in charge of arrangements.
