Lelia lone Hardy, 86, of Malvern died July 4, 2001 at Montgomery County Hospital in Red Oak. Funeral services were July 7, 2001 at Mansfield-Hertz Funeral Home in Malvern with burial in the Malvern Cemetery. Rev. Shirley Albert officiated the services.

Mrs. Hardy was the daughter of Joseph Wilson and Nina Louise (Robinson) Fletcher, born November 23, 1914 near New Foster. She was seven-years-old when her mother died and age 15 when her father died. She then moved to Malvern where she lived with her aunt and uncle, Mabel and Paul Kelso, and attended Malvern High School. She was married to Corwin Arthur Hardy May 14,1933 at the Holiness Church parsonage in Glenwood. They made their home in Malvern until moving to Tabor in 1963. They then purchased their present home in Malvern in 1971. She worked for a few years at LeMode Laundry in Glenwood, but her primary job was taking care of the needs of her husband and 13 children. She enjoyed sewing, embroidering, faithfully tending to her vegetable and flower gardens, and camping.

She was preceded in death by her parents; children, Leonard Hardy and Stella Blackburn-Hamilton; sister, Sylvia Hudson; brothers, Harold Fletcher, Lloyd Fletcher, Lewis Fletcher, Leonard “Jack” Fletcher and Carroll Fletcher; daughter-in-law, Kay Hardy; and sons-in-law, Ralph Owen, Junior Driskell and Gary Blackburn; three great-grandchildren.

Survivors include her husband; sons, Lowell Hardy of Emerson, Lavern Hardy and wife Beverly of Malvern, Donnie Hardy and wife Shielah of Malvern, and Merle Hardy of Des Moines; daughters, Lois Clark and husband Kenny of Glenwood, Ellen Driskell. of Westboro, Mo., Carolyn Owen of Shenandoah, Beverly Phillips and husband Wayne of Hamburg, Mary Sapp and husband Glen of Westboro, Mo., Bonnie Abbott and husband Jim of Glenwood, and Sherrel Farmer and husband Joe of Coin; daughter-in-law, Connie Hardy of Red Oak; son-in-law, Eldon Hamilton of Tabor; 48 granchildren, 68 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild; nieces and nephews.
