Helen V. Schoening, 90, of Council Bluffs, died Oct. 19, 2004, at the Risen Son Nursing Home in Council Bluffs. Funeral services were held Oct. 22 at the Cutler-O’Neill-Meyer-Woodring Funeral Home in Council Bluffs. Paul Crane and John Farrell, Chaplains, officiated the services. Interment was at the Mineola Cemetery.

Mrs. Schoening was the daughter of Henry B. and Emma E. (Bebensee) Ramm, born Feb. 1, 1914, in Keg Creek. She attended grade school at Miller Country School in Silver City. She was a homemaker and a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Mineola and several card clubs.

Mrs. Schoening was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Schoening. She is survived by daughters Sandra Woods and husband Danny and Barbara Scheel, all of Council Bluffs; grandchildren Sheri Johannes and husband David, Gayle Zorad and husband Michael, Colleen Durham and husband Jeff, Bob Woods and Matt Woods; 11 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Cutler-O’Neill-Meyer-Woodring Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
