Charles A. Nelson, 50, of Glenwood, formerly of Malvern, died Oct. 25, 2004, at his home. Graveside services will be held Wednesday, Oct. 27, 11 a.m., at the Malvern Cemetery. Pastor Darrell Hopp will officiate the services.

Mr. Nelson was the son of George Alfred and Peggy Maxine (Watson) Nelson, born March 7, 1954, in Omaha, Neb. He was previously employed with Henningson Foods and J & N Fertilizer. He was a former member of the Malvern Volunteer Fire Department. He moved to Malvern in the early 1970s and to Glenwood several years ago. He was nicknamed Tin Can Nelson by his family and friends. He also helped farm for Charles Phelps and Howard Wilson until his health no longer allowed him to continue working.

Mr. Nelson was preceded in death by his parents, stepfather and half-sister. He is survived by half-brothers J.E.B., Jr., Richard Bolander and Michael Bolander, all of Malvern, and David Bolander of Hamburg; great aunt Virginia Deloter of Council Bluffs; four nieces; two nephews; special friends Wes and Shirley Ring of Glenwood; and a host of other friends.

A memorial fund has been established. Peterson Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
