Veryl Eugene Wearin Obituary
Death has again entered the home of Mrs. Ina Wearin, this time taking the second son, Veryl Eugene, who after a short sickness of Flu and Pneumonia died at the home Saturday morning, February 28th, 1920.
Very was born February 11th, 1911. He had just passed his tenth birthday. A short life you will say, and yet in those then years he made many friends and now that he is gone, he will be greatly missed.
Only eleven months ago he was called to give up his brother and playmate Andrew. And time seemed long and the days lonely but little died we think then that the time would be so short duration. He has gone on to the better country where the children of God play upon the Golden Streets of the City of God. Where there is no sorrow and where death and parting never comes.
Veryl was born eight miles north of Hastings and lived his entire life in this community. He was a regular attendant at Public School and The Sunday School. He was of a very happy disposition and was beloved by all the boys of his age. During the last days of his illness, he was constantly talking and thinking about his school work and associates.
The mother, Mrs. Ina Wearin and one brother, James, together with grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. John Clover, uncles, aunts, and other relatives are left to mourn his loss.
Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at the home conducted by Rev. F. A. Smith, pastor of the M. E. Church at Hastings. Interment was made in the Hastings Cemetery by the side of his brother and father.
The bereaved mother, who is herself confined to her sick bed, has the sympathy of the entire community.
