Mrs. Elizabeth Viner passed away at the home of her daughter, Mr. Kirkpatrick in Omaha, Tuesday, February 14, 1922. She had been in failing health for some time but at the time of her death, she wasn’t considered serious. She went to bed feeling pretty good and woke up in the night very sick and lived by almost two hours.
She was born in England, February 4, 1852, so was a few days past seventy years of age. She sailed for this country in the year of 1872 locating at Burlington, Iowa. She was united in marriage to Joseph Viner, June 9, 1873. Mr. Viner preceded her in death three years ago. They came to Mills County in 1881, lived on their farm in Deer Creek township until 1891, when they moved to the farm south east of Henderson where they resided until a few years ago when they moved into Henderson. She was the mother of six children, four boys and two girls, all living except one son. She also has fifteen grandchildren and one great-grandchild. She was a member of the Church of England. She lived a quiet Christian life and took great interest in her home and family. She was a great lover of flowers and took no little pleasure in working with them. Besides her children and other relatives, she leaves to mourn her loss many friends.
The remains were brought to Henderson and funeral services held from the old home, Thursday afternoon conducted by Rev. J. E. Wilkins of the Baptist Church in Malvern, who was a personal friend of the family. Interment was made in the Farm Creek Cemetery.
The sorrowing children have the deep sympathy of all in their bereavement.
