Helen M. Fauquier, 88, Council Bluffs

Helen Marie Fauquier, 88, of Council Bluffs, formerly of Glenwood, died July 23, 2004, at Risen Son Christian Village in Council Bluffs. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, July 28, 2004, 10 a.m., at the Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Glenwood Rev. Don Bruck will officiate the services. Burial will be at the Glenwood Cemetery.

Mrs. Fauquier was the daughter of John and Myrtle (McGurk) Haley, born June 3, 1916, in Cambridge, Mass. She graduated from Cambridge High and Latin and became employed with the New England Telephone Company in Boston for over 10 years until she met her husband while she was volunteering as a U.S.O. Hostess. She was united in marriage to Thomas Nelson Fauquier on Sept. 8, 1946, in Cambridge. To this union three children were born. The family moved to Glenwood in the early 1950s. Mrs. Fauquier was employed with the present Glenwood Resource Center in the clerical department, retiring in 1977. She was an active member of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church. She loved her dogs and enjoyed the home that she and her husband built and shared together.

Mrs. Fauquier was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son, John, two brothers and three sisters. She is survived by son Tom Fauquier of Des Moines; daughter Susan Fauquier of Glenwood; close friend Joyce Lane of Glenwood; many nieces and nephews; and a host of friends.

Memorials are suggested to Holy Rosary Catholic Church. Peterson Mortuary in Glenwood was in charge of arrangements
