Parkview, Iowa - July 1991

Bernice Winifred Ward was born at Merriman, Nebraska, the daughter of E.W. "Red" and Bernice (Ayers) Ward. She was raised in the Nebraska sandhills and attended school in Valentine, where she graduated from high school in 1954.

She married Willis Brown on 15 June 1956. After her marriage, she lived in many geographical locations, moving as the career of her husband required. She made a home for her husband and children wherever they lived.

Winnie was just an ordinary person:
a daughter and a sister;
a wife;
a mother and a grandmother;
she was also more, much more;
she was greatly loved.

Winnie passed away Saturday, 7 July 1991, at her home in Parkview, Iowa, after a long illness. Burial was at the Mt. Hope Cemetery, Valentine, Nebraska on 10 July 1991.
