October 16, 1902

The body of Joel B. Bomar was brought to Glenwood Tuesday morning and buried in the cemetery after a funeral service by Rev. Shaw of the Methodist church. The deceased was a man about 52 years old and for 30 years was totally blind. Because of his general helplessness, he was last October taken to St. Bernard’s hospital at Council Bluffs where he died. He was a brother of C.D. Brown who lives south of Glenwood, Mrs. Alexander Graves of Hillsdale, and Mrs. M.M. Anthony of Randolph. Seth Dean was his guardian, and there was in his hands property just about sufficient to defray the final expense.
