Mrs. Samuel Meadows died, Sept. 22, 1902, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. W.H. Rowe, north of Glenwood, Iowa, age 69 years.

Her maiden name was Catherine Buffington, and she came to Glenwood at an early day with the other members of that family who have all contributed to the welfare of this community.

When a young woman she taught in the country schools and is held in loving remembrance by many of her former pupils. She married Samuel Meadows, who died some 18 years ago. She leaves two daughters, Mrs. W.H. Rowe and Mrs. Thomas McCrary, both living near the old home.

She has ever been a consistent Christian, a member of the Methodist church and active in the Sunday school work in the West Liberty church.

There was a large attendance at the funeral yesterday, conducted by Rev. Smith who had chare of the West Liberty work last year, and her body was laid to rest beside, that of her husband in the West Liberty cemetery.
