Edith Kristine Estes, 98, of Sidney, formerly of Glenwood, died November 27, 2000 at the Sidney Health Center following an extended illness. Graveside services were November 29, 2000 at the Glenwood Cemetery with Rev. Lauris Meek officiating.

Mrs. Estes was the daughter of Jon C. and Anna S. (Anderson) Carlson, born September 6, 1902 in Pacific Junction. She was a 1919 graduate of Pacific Junction High School and then attended VanSant Business School in Omaha, Neb. She was married to William Clay Estes on January 6, 1921 in Glenwood. After his death in 1951, she moved to Malvern and worked in the veternarian’s office for Doctors Anderson and Darling. She moved to Glenwood in 1960 and worked for Paul H. Cheyney for 20 years. She was a member of the Glenwood United Methodist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; daughter, Marianña Goy; infant brother, and a brother, A.W. Carlson, Survivors include her daughter, Lorna Ruse and husband Bud of Randolph; son-in-law, Morris Coy of Papihion,Neb.; six grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, and eight great-great-granchilthen; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Memorials are suggested to the Glenwood Library. Crawford- Marshall Funeral Chapel was in charge of arrangements.
