Raymond H. Hall, 86, of Glenwood died July 25, 2001 at Jennie Edmundson Hospital in Council Bluffs. Funeral services were July 28, 2001 at Mansfield-Hertz Funeral Home of Malvern with burial in the Malvern cemetery. Pastor Mark Smeltzer officiated the services.

Mr. Hall was the son of Samuel Riley and Edith (Homan) Hall, born February 12, 1915 in Henderson. He grew up in Fremont County and attended school in Henderson, Mayflower Country School and Anderson. He was married to Cleo Minnie Jones for 36 years when she died July 26, 1975. They cared for his youngest sister, Louise, and also a nephew. Later they raised his niece Debbie Jan Lentz from infancy until she graduated from high school. He was married to Ruby Lucille Meredith on November 20, 1980 in Glenwood and became a dad to her daughter, Sharon Kay and her sons, Steven and Lynn Meredith, and a grandpa to two grandsons and two granddaughters. He farmed for 30 years and was a truck driver for Wailer Transfer in Malvern for 35 years. He was a member of the Nazarene Church in Glenwood. Since retirement he has worked as a foster grandparent at the Glenwood State Hospital-School and loved every minute he spent with his foster grandchildren. One of his enjoyments was spending time with his family playing card games.

He was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Cleo; brothers, John Hall, Jim Hall and Leonard Hall; sisters, Hazel Fender, Cora Redding and Grace Hall.

Survivors include his wife., Ruby; step-sons, Steven Meredith and Lynn Meredith of Glenwood; step-daughter, Sharon Kay Reinders of Omaha, Neb.; sisters, Louise Briley and husband Marlin of Council Bluffs, and Mary Elliott of Clarinda; niece, Debbie Jan Stewart of Clarinda.
