Joe Fisher, 72, of Pacific Junction died July 22, 2001 at Glen Haven Nursing Home after a long illness. Funeral services were July 25, 2001 at Hardiman Raynor Funeral Home in Glenwood with burial in the Martins Chapel Cemetery in rural Pacific Junction. Pastor Howard Green officiated the services.

Mr. Fisher was the son of Robert and Sela Baine Fisher, born October 16, 1928 in Huxtum, Colo. They moved to this area when he was eight and has lived in this area ever since. He served in the Army during the Korean War. He was united in marriage to Katherine Alley October 31, 1964 in Plattsmouth, Neb. He worked for Burlington Northern Railroad since he was 16-years-old.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Myrna McManigal; and brothers, Dean and Jerry Fisher.

Survivors include his wife; sons, Norman and wife Tern of Pacific Junction, Danny and wife Tara of Fairbanks, Alaska, and Steve and wife Pam of Phoenix City, Ala.; sisters, Viola Merritt of Whittier, Calif., and Mary Puckett of Kountze, Texas; brother, Robert Thomas Fisher of Glenwood; stepchildren, David and wife Bonnie Baumbach of Stanton, Nancy and husband Clark Carnahan of Edwards, Colo., Alice and husband Dale Williamsen of Omaha, Neb., Ronald Baumbach of Nodaway, Edward and wife Penny Baumbach of Marshaltown, and Donald Baumbach of Council Bluffs; 23 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Memorials are suggested to the Diabetes Foundation.
