Carlton (Chris) Christensen, 75, of Silver City, died May 12, 2003, at Mercy Hospital in Council Bluffs. Funeral services will be held May 14, 2003, 10:30 a.m., at Peterson Mortuary in Glenwood.

Pastor Lynn Zimmerman will officiate the service.

Burial will be at the Silver City Cemetery.

Mr. Christensen was the son of Carl L. and Anne (Petersen) Christensen, born Sept. 29, 1927, in Persia. He was in the Navy during WWII. He married Kathleen Johnson on Aug. 29, 1948, in Council Bluffs. He lived in Council Bluffs before moving to Silver City in 1972. He was employed as a railroad engineer. He was a member of the VFW and the Eagles. He was also a member of the United Methodist Church in Silver City. He loved his family and enjoyed spending time with them.

Mr. Christensen was preceded in death by his parents, wife, one brother and four sisters. He is survived by daughters Kristie Burgoin and husband Bob of Silver City, Ricki Achenbach and husband Lonny of Glenwood and Cynthia Davidson of Council Bluffs; sons Terry Christensen and Brett Christensen and wife Lisa, all of Silver City; 11 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; sister Rose Miller and husband Gale of Littleton, Colo.; nieces and nephews; and a host of friends.

A memorial fund has been established. Peterson Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
