August 15, 1901

Andrew Ernest Scott was born in Hastings IA, Feb. 24,1880. When three years old he moved with his parents to Nebraska, near Fullerton, where he lived until the age of 16. They then moved to South Omaha. He was operated on for appendicitis at Clarkson Hospital shortly after coming to Omaha.

As soon as his health permitted he entered the High school in South Omaha where he graduated in June, 1896. He then entered the Commercial College where he remained until his health failed and he was, compelled to give up his school work. He went to Las Vegas, New Mexico, Dec. 29, 1899, where he remained until Aug. 1900. He then went to Colorado and remained until 20th. of June, 1901. On his return home he stopped to* visit his brother, Bert, living near Lincoln where he was taken worse suddenly and was not able to reach home. He passed peacefully away 38 minutes past 5 Wednesday morning, Aug. 7, 1901.

While in Colorado his health was much improved until he had a severe attack of the La Grippe last January and he has gradually grown worse. While attending school he united with the Episcopal church in South Omaha and was baptized by Rev. Johnson. Rev. Francis W. Eason, of Lincoln, gave communion shortly before his death. He was brought to Hastings for burial services Aug. 9, 1901, Rev. H. D. Brainerd, of Glenwood, conducting them. The remains were laid to rest in the Malvern cemetery.
