Fred H. Baker, 83, Glenwood. Funeral services for Fred H. Baker, 83, of Glenwood were held Saturday, May 23, at Raynor-Hardiman Funeral Home in Glenwood. Rev. Steve Minor officiated the burial at Glenwood Cemetery.

Mr. Baker died Wednesday, May 20, in Council Bluffs. He is survived by his wife, Pauline Baker, of Glenwood; two daughters, Shirley Wilson of Glenwood and Nancy Hansen and her husband Dave of Council Bluffs; two grandchildren, Kerry Weber of Bear, Delaware, and Curt Starr of Council Bluffs; two brothers, Garreld Baker of Malvern and Bill Baker of Warren, Penn.; one sister, Truie Ross of Malvern; and five great grandchildren. Mr. Baker was preceded in death by his parents, Korah and Lavota (Harold) Baker and two brothers, Ward and Marreld Baker. Mr. Baker was born Oct. 2, 1908 in Glenwood. He was united in marriage to Pauline Elliot on March 1, 1932, near Thurman, Iowa.

He served in the United States Army during WWII and is a life member of the Disabled American Veterans and the American Legion. He was a member of the First Christian Church in Glenwood and a former member of the Glenwood Volunteer Fire Department. Mr. Baker enjoyed short wave radio and photography. Memorials are suggested to the First Christian Church or the Glenwood Fire Department.
