Mr. J. R. Barnes, one of the most highly respected and substantial citizens of the county, died at his residence in Deer Creek Township, Tuesday night. About 3 months ago,it will be remembered, Mr. Barnes had a severe stroke of paralysis, but he recovered from this, in a great degree and had since been up and around. On last Sunday evening, however, he was taken with neuralgia of the heart, when he told his family that he believed he had but a short time to live. His prophecy proved true. The funeral services will be held at 1:00 today, under the auspices of Milton Summers, Post GAR, of which deceased was a honored member.
