GLENWOOD TRIBUNE April 28, 1949

Services were held Wednesday, April 27, for Miss Elizabeth McCoy, who passed away in Glenwood on Monday, April 25, following an extended illness.
Miss McCoy, daughter of Robert and Phoebe Jester McCoy was born in Glenwood, January 1, 1860. She was the next to the youngest daughter of a family of five children, all of whom have preceded her in death.
She lived in and near Glenwood all her life, having spent practically all of her life on the farm east of town. She attended the school of the town and became one of the respected members of the community.
At an early age she was converted and united with Grace Methodist church and had been a loyal faithful member, always in her place and doing her part as long as she was able.
A few years ago her health failed and she moved to a home in town. Last summer she became seriously ill and was forced to leave her home and be under the care of others. She spent the last of her life as a patient in the Stone hospital until she passed away on April 25, 1949 at the age of 89 years, 3 months and 24 days after a serious illness.
She leaves to mourn her passing, two nephews, Herman of Glenwood and Elwood of Council Bluffs; six nieces, Mrs. Helen Hillyer, of Strahan and Mrs, Phoebe McCoy, Mrs. Marion Wiles, Mrs. A.R. McPherson, Mrs. Rhoda McCoy and Mrs. Jennie Boyer of Glenwood.
Services were held Wednesday from the James-Reid chapel with the Rev. W. Walker officiating.
Music was furnished by Jack????? with Mary Evelyn Logan at the piano.
Casket bearers were G.T. Hurst, Carl Hurst, Ralph Mayberry, A.R. McPherron, Charles Trimmer and George Howard.
Flower ladies were C.T. Hurst and Mrs. Tena Van Rehano?.
Interment was in the Glenwood cemetery.
