GLENWOOD OPINION-TRIBUNE
DATED THURS., OCT. 13, 1932:

Funeral services were held Sunday in Malvern for Karl August Hertz, 64, from the home, with the Rev. Henry D. White, D. D., in charge. Mr. Hertz was born in Sweden and came to America when 17. With money he earned, he sent for his brother and sister.

Later he and his brother and sister sent for their mother and father, and made a home for them in Malvern, where Mr. Hertz was engaged in the dray business. Mr. Hertz was married to Miss Karolina Paulson, Sept. 6, 1889. They built a home in the north part of Malvern, where they have lived ever since. Mr. Hertz was confirmed in the Swedish Lutheran church at the age of 15. He is survived by his widow, four sons, Oscar of San Dimas, Cal.; Frank, Carl, Jr., and Paul of Malvern; two daughters, Mrs. Minnie Nelson of St. Edwards, Neb., and Edna of Malvern; sister, Mrs. Eva Bloomquist and brother, Oscar, of Seattle, Wash.

Burial was made in the Malvern cemetery.
