GLENWOOD OPINION-TRIBUNE
DATED THURS., JANUARY 5, 1933:

This community was saddened Saturday by the word of the death of Floyd Stacy, which occurred at the family home southwest of Glenwood shortly after noon that day. Floyd had been in poor health for several months but was improving when he was suddenly taken with the flu and but few knew that he was seriously ill at all.

He was the third son of Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Stacy, having been born at the family home southwest of Glenwood, November 10, 1901. He attended school in the home community until he entered Glenwood high school, from which he graduated with the class of 1921. He had since been associated with his father in farming with the exception of short periods of time when he had been employed in Glenwood, he having been employed in the early months of his summer in the Fickel Drug store here.

He was a young man of sterling worth and had a host of friends over the community, for all who knew him were his friends. He was very kind and thoughtful of his parents and family. Floyd united with the Baptist church of Glenwood in 1916. He was also a worthy member of the K. and P. lodge of Glenwood.

Besides his father and mother he leaves to mourn his passing one sister, Lorna, at home, and three brothers, Wayne of Chicago; Earl and William at home.

Funeral services were held in Raynors Chapel Monday afternoon. The service was in charge of Rev. J. Irving Brown, pastor of the Christian church, who had been a personal friend of Floyds.

Members of the Knights of Pythias lodge attended the services in a body and formed an escort of honor as the funeral procession proceeded to the Glenwood cemetery where he ritualistic services of the order were given at the open grave by W. C. Rathke, Dahle Boyer, Marlin Young and Rev. J. Irving Brown.
