GLENWOOD OPINION-TRIBUNE
DATED MONDAY, FEBRUARY 22, 1932:

Elvira E. Dresser, daughter of Almon and Electa Dresser, was born in Linn county, Iowa, on Feb. 15, 1860, and died at her home in Glenwood on Feb. 15, 1932, at the age of 72 years.

Her early life was spent in Linn county amid the scenes of the early pioneers of the state. She one of a family of five children. Her education was received in the early day log school house of the plank bench style. The next nearest school was 21 miles away.

When 18 years of age she was married to Lorenzo Courtis Adams on Jan. 1, 1878, and with her husband and parents moved to Knox county, Neb. Here they endured together the many hardships of pioneering in a new country. To them were born seven children. One boy and one girl preceded her in death, as also her beloved husband, Lorenzo Courtis, who died Jan. 31, 1932, just 16 days before her.

She leaves to sorrow for her passing one daughter, Mrs. P. S. Moon, of Everson, Wash.; four sons, Floyd, Guy, Stoddard and Fay Adams, of Glenwood; one brother, Philo Dresser of Des Moines; one son-in-law and three daughters-in-laws and 14 grandchildren.

In February, 1886, she with her husband decided to take the Christian way of living and were baptized according to their understanding of the scriptures. They united with the First Baptist church of Glenwood in 1889 and remained faithful even unto death.

Funeral services were held in the Glenwood Baptist church Thursday afternoon with the pastor, Rev. John Erb, in charge. Music for the services was furnished by Mrs. William Lugsch, Mrs. J. C. Bussanmas, Henry Dean and W. B. Eaton, with Mrs. Raymond Rhoades at the organ. The pallbearers were Stoddard, Floyd, Guy and Fay Adams, Lew Miller and Raymond Wise. The body was laid to rest in the Glenwood cemetery.
