Services will be Friday at 2 p.m. at the United Methodist Church in Thurman for Jack Stanley, 82, of Thurman. He died Tuesday in the Hamburg hospital.

Stanley was born on Sept. 9, 1900 in Fremont County, the son of Riley and Lucy Forney Stanley. He married Lulu Buhr in Council Bluffs on Sept. 6, 1927. He was a contractor and farmer, a member of the United Methodist Church, Sidney Masonic Lodge, Elks Club of Nebraska City, K. P., Kiwanis and Rotary.

Survivors include his wife Lulu; a sister, Ferne Elliott of Detroit; three sons, Jim Stanley of Glenwood and Don and Brooks Stanley of Thurman; nine grandchildren; five step-grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Services will be officiated by the Rev. Wayne Clark and the Rev. Jerold Irvin. Interment will be at Thurman Cemetery. The family will receive friends tonight at Peterson Mortuary from 7-8 p.m. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or Heart Fund.
