Funeral servies for Mary LaRue, 79, of Glenwood were held Tuesday, August 9, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Glenwood. Father Robert Aubrey and Father Frank Bognanno officiated, with burial in West Union Cemetery in Union, Neb.

Mrs. LaRue passed away August 6 at her home in Glenwood.

She was born May 22, 1909, in North Platte, Neb., the daughter of John and Gertrude Dick. She married Hubert S. LaRue on August 23, 1934, in North Platte. To this union four children were born.

Mr. and Mrs. LaRue established LaRue Drug Store in Glenwood in 1937, making it one of Glenwood's oldest businesses.

Mary was past president of the P.E.O. Sisterhood, and was past worthy matron of the Order of the Eastern Star. She was also a member of Daughters of the American Revolution and the Holy Angels Circle. She was an active member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband Hugh on August 15, 1982.

Survivors include her two sons, Dick and David LaRue of Glenwood; two daughters, DeEtte LaRue and Suzanne LaRue, both of San Francisco, Cal.; and four grandchildren, Jodi, Stephanie, Mary Beth and John LaRue.

Ardis Dusenberry was the organist at the funeral service, while Joanie Peterson and Sybil Finken were soloists.

Pallbeares were K. C. Owen, Jim Hughes, John Dean, Dr. Robert Fryzek, Dennis Doocy and D. D. Davis.

Peterson Mortuary in Glewood was in charge of arrangements. Memorials are suggested to the Glenwood Public Library, Holy Rosary Catholic Church, and Glen Haven Home.
