GLENWOOD OPINION-TRIBUNE
DATED AUGUST 19, 1982:Services were Tuesday in Glenwood for H. S. LaRue, 78, of Glenwood. He died Sunday at his home after a lengthy illness.
LaRue, a retired pharmacist and prominent member of the Glenwood community, was born Jan. 20, 1904 in Union, Neb. and came to Glenwood in 1937. He is a former member of the Glewood City Council and Board of Education, a retired member of the Glenwood Volunteer Fire Department, Glenwood Water Board, Masonic Lodge, Knights of Ak-Sar-Ben, Iowa Pharmaceutical Association, National Pharmaceutical Association and was a Shriner. He was the owner of LaRue Drug Store in Glenwood.
Survivors include his wife, Mary; two daughters, DeEtte LaRue of San Francisco, and Suzanne LaRue of Denver; two sons, Dick and David LaRue of Glenwood; a brother, Lucian LaRue, and two grandchildren.
Services were at Holy Rosary Catholic Church with the Rev. Frank Bognanno officiating. Music was provided by Carol Condon, Sybil Finken and Joanie Peterson. Casket bearers were D. D. Davis, Wayne Boles, Forrest Mayberry, Willard Stivers, Clarence Boles Jr. and Gregg Aistrope. Interment was at West Union Cemetery in Union, Neb.
