GLENWOOD OPINION-TRIBUNE
DATED JUNE 4, 1980:

Services were Saturday in Dunlap, Iowa, for Adah Z. McCord, 80, of Glenwood. She died at a Council Bluffs Hospital May 28.

Born Sept. 20, 1899 in Dunlap to George and Mina Lantz Cover, she attended school in the Dunlap area. On Nov. 17, 1917, she was married to Melvin McCord; they lived in the Dunlap area for several years and later moved to Omaha. Five years ago the couple came to Glenwood.

Survivors include three sons, Bernard and Raymond McCord of Houston, Texas, and Oscar McCord of Glenwood; five daughters, Jean Johnson, Mina Usher and Shirley White of Glenwood, Wanda Jones of Blair, Neb., and Beverly Schmidt of Tekamah, Neb.; 30 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. She also leaves two sisters, Opal Jones of Dunlap and Myrtle Davis of Castro Valley, Calif.

The funeral was held at the Dunlap United Methodist Church with the Rev. Raymond Moore officiating. Local arrangements were handled by Raynor, Lett & Kent Funeral Home.

Casket bearers were Dennis Usher, Melvin Usher, James McCord, Rick McCord, Robert Shumake, Robert Schmidt, Robert Frahm and Wes Hunt.

Interment was at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Dunlap.
