DATED AUG. 4, 1976

Funeral services for Mel McCord, 79, will be held at the United Methodist Church, Dunlap, Ia. 2:30 p.m., Thursday, Aug. 5 with interment in the Dunlap Cemetery.

Mr. McCord passed away Monday at a Malvern rest home. He was a retired painter of Glenwood, and formerly lived in Omaha.

Survivors include his wife, Adah; three sons, Bernard, Glenwood, Oscar, Council Bluffs, and Raymond, Houston, Tex.; five daughters, Mrs. Warren (Mina) Usher, Glenwood, Mrs. Wayne (Jean) Johnson, McCallister, Okla., Wanda Jones, Blair, Neb., Mrs. Lyle (Shirley) Alley, Glenwood, Mrs. Jack (Beverly) Budd, Omaha; 30 grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren.

Raynor, Lett and Kent Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Melvin Fouts McCord was born September 28, 1896. On November 19, 1918 he married Adah Zilla Cover. They were parents to ten children.

Two children preceded him in death: Ruth Loretta McCord 1918-1920 and George Melvin McCord 1921-1944. (The other eight children are listed in the obituary)

Melvin died in 1976. His wife, Adah, died in 1980.
