Leonard Dean, president of the Glenwood State Bank, died early Tuesday at an Omaha hospital as the result of a stroke. He was 62 years old.
Mr. Dean had not felt well on Monday forenoon and had remained away from his work. He suffered the stroke at his home.
A native of Glenwood, Mr. Dean had been associated with the bank for 38 years.
He attended the University of Nebraska but his college work was interrupted by service in World War I. He was employed by banks in Los Angeles, Calif., and Omaha before returning to Glenwood to become associated with the bank which his father helped found.
Surviving are his widow, Marguerite; one son, John of Glenwood, and two grandchildren.
Services were Thursday at 2:00 p.m. at the First Congregational church in Glenwood with the Rev. Helen Galazka officiating. Interment was in the Glenwood cemetery with the Raynor-Hamilton funeral home in charge.
