GLENWOOD OPINION TRIBUNE
DATED MARCH 25, 1940:

Anna Schwalm was born on April 27, 1856 in Germany, and came to America in 1883. On May 17, 1885, she was married to Fred Tuchenhagen in Omaha, Nebraska. About ten years later they established their home on a farm near Pacific Junction, where they resided some five years, moving from there to a farm north of Glenwood and shortly before the world war, Mr. Tuchenhagen retired from active farm life, establishing their home on an acreage at the north edge of Glenwood. It was here he passed away on December 16, 1937, at the advanced age of 89 years. Following his death, Mrs. Tuchenhagen made her home with a daughter, Mrs. Don Raine of Pacific Junction, where she passed away Monday night, March 18, at the age of 83 years, 10 months and 21 days.

In addition to Mrs. Raine, she is survived by two other daughters, Mrs. Amelia Detlef of Plattsmouth, Neb., Mrs. George Crouch of Glenwood; one son, Fred of Glenwood; one step-son, Adolph of Council Bluffs; eight grandchildren, one great-grandchild, and one sister, Mrs. John (unreadable) of Enid, Okla.

The funeral services were held Thursday afternoon in the Myers Funeral Home in Glenwood, conducted by Rev. O. C. Bierman, pastor of the Mineola Lutheran church. Music for the service was furnished by F. C. Doyle and Mrs. Shirley Lincoln, Sr., of Pacific Junction. Pallbearers were six grandsons, Ferdinand Detlef, Kenneth, Russell and Albert Crouch, Ralph Raine and Henry Tuchenhagen.

The body was laid to rest in the Glenwood cemetery.
