THE OPINION-TRIBUNE
DATED WED. SEPT. 27, 1995:

Elayne Carnes, 77, Tabor, died Sept. 21, 1995 at the Tabor Manor Care Center following an extended illness. Funeral services were Sunday at the Crawford-Marshall Funeral Chapel in Tabor with Rev. Darrell Hopp and Rev. Steve Cook officiating. Burial was at the Thurman Cemetery.

Mrs. Carnes was born May 14, 1918 to William E. Frederickson and Edith A. (Trewit) Frederickson in Thurman. She married Kenneth Carnes on July 6, 1940 in Rockport, Mo. Elayne was a member of the Tabor First Christian Church and the Pythian Sisters Temple #51 of Tabor.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one daughter, Sherry Carnes; two sisters, Thelma Frederickson adn Wilma Blackman; and one brother, Darrell Frederickson. She is survived by her husband, Kenneth Carnes of Tabor; three daughters, Mrs. Gale (Doris) Greedy of Sidney, Mrs. Darrell (Carolyn) Hopp of Glenwood, and Mrs. Douglas (Maxine) Bell of Manassas, Va.; 10 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Phyllis Frederickson of Malvern; five nieces; one nephew; and other relatives.

Memorials are suggested to Community Hospice of Iowa or the Tabor First Christian Church.
