Final rites for one of Mills county’s older citizens were held in the Mansfield Funeral home Friday afternoon when services were conducted for Mrs. Sarah Conrad.

The services were conducted by the Rev. Nobel B. Blackman, pastor of the Methodist church. The music was furnished by Geraldine Mills and Mrs. Lloyd Angus accompanied at the piano by Mrs. Bernice Woodfill.

Pall bearers were Dallas Clites, Alfred Clites, David Angus, Lloyd Angus, Frank Hillyer and Heber Hillyer.

Caring for the floral offerings were Mrs. Charles Kayton, Mrs. Gilbert McCain, Mrs. Alice Hetzel and Mrs. Everett Gipe.

The Rev. Mr. Blackman read the following life sketch:

Sarah Cary Conrad was born March 12, 1876 near Hastings and died in the Red Oak hospital June 21 at the age of 74 years, three months and nine days.

She was married to Silas Harry Conrad Feb. 15, 1894, who preceded her in death about six years ago. To this union were born three sons, Clyde and Earl of Strahan and Rev. Lewis Conrad of Kent. There are six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren and one brother, Charles Cary, of Red Oak.

Interment was in the Malvern cemetery.
