DATED SEPTEMBER 27, 1983:Services were Saturday in Glenwood for Lawrence Albert Pace, 69, of Glenwood. He died Thursday at a Council Bluffs hospital.
Pace was born on Nov. 9, 1913 in Glenwood, the son of Kate and Bert Pace. He worked for both Booth and Olson Constuction Companies as a truck foreman on many interstate highway construction projects in Iowa. He also worked with the federal government at Offutt Air Force Base. Pace was baptized a member of the First Christian Chruch in Glenwood and married Ardis Slaughter.
Survivors include his wife, Ardis; four sons, Jon of Little Rock, Ark., Lawrence Jr. of Emerson, and Therron and Bret, both of Glenwood; three daughters, Kitty Hadden of Aurora, Colo., and Kathy Carruso and Christine Pace, both of Omaha; two sisters, Florence Rager of Glenwood and Marguerite Koehrsen of Council Bluffs; and many grandchildren.
Services were at Peterson Mortuary with the Rev. Wayne Sigler officiating. Music was provided by Maureen Pace, pianist and Mrs. Keith Nettesheim, organist. Casket bearers were Lawrence Pace III, Jeffrey Caruso, Victor Hadden, Aaron Hadden, Andrew Pace and Mike Pace. Honorary casket bearers were Fernando Guerrero, Leonard Fairly, Peter Spagnotti, Edward Blackman and Lyle Witherbee. Interment was at Glenwood Cemetery.
