THE MALVERN LEADER
DATED DECEMBER 28, 1933:

The funeral of Harrison H. Howser, mention of whose death was made in last week’s Leader, was held in the Methodist church in Silver City Monday, Dec. 19, conducted by the pastor, Rev. F. G. Barnes. The services at the grave were under the direction of the local I.O.O.F. lodge. The following obituary was taken from last week’s Silver City Times:

Harrison H., the son of Elizabeth and George Howser, was born near Lincoln, Ill., March 24, 1872, and departed this life Saturday morning, Dec. 16, 1933, aged sixty-one years, eight months and twenty-two days.

When about three years of age he moved with his parents to a farm seven miles north of Silver City, later moving to this city, where he spent the remainder of his life.

On Feb. 3, 1898, he was united in marriage to Miss Katie D. Moore who with the two daughters, Adah at home and Mrs. Lola Kruse, survive.

Mr. Howser, apparently in his usual good health, was stricken with a very severe heart attack early Monday morning, Nov. 27, 1933. Every possible relief was administered by doctors and nurses at home but to no avail. On the following day he was removed to the Jennie Edmundson hospital in Council Bluffs. A slight improvement followed and ten days later he was able to be brought to his home. Always cheerful and hopeful of recovery, he spent the last few days of his life at his home in the constant companionship of his loving wife and daughters. Death came quickly and silently about 2:30 Saturday morning.

Besides his immediate family, Mr. Howser leaves to mourn his passing two sisters, Mrs. Susie Pullman of this place, and Mrs. Mattie Tibbles of Gifford, Idaho; two brothers, Chas. Howser and Joe Howser of Fallen, Nevada, and a host of other relatives and friends.

On April 30, 1900 he became a member of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows Lodge No. 403 of Silver City, and remained ever faithful to the principles of Odd Fellowship. He was also a member of Unedia Rebekah Lodge No. 200.
