George and Amy Hunt are buried in Mills County, Iowa in the Silver City Cemetery.

On November 25, 1936 George Shanklin Hunt, son of Charles Lee Hunt and Cora E. (Moore) Hunt, married Amy Loretta Kearns, daughter of Arthur and Mary Kearns. Three children were born to this union: Larry, Peggy and Dean.

George was born and raised on a farm near Silver City and a farm north of Glenwood, Iowa.

DATED AUGUST 1997:

Amy Loretta Hunt, 85, died July 30 at Jennie Edmundson Hospital.

She was born in Neola. She was a retired volunteer at Jennie Edmundson Hospital. She was a member of St. Marks United Methodist Church.

Mrs. Hunt was preceded in death by her husband, George in 1989. Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Bill (Peggy) Matney of Arlington, Texas; two sons, A. Dean Hunt of Council Bluffs and Larry A. Hunt of Emerson; one sister, Alice Heiman of Oakland; and three grandchildren.

Visitation with the family will be from 7 to 8 p.m. Saturday at McCurdy Funeral Home.

Funeral will be 2 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home with the Rev. Aaron Jones of Risen Sun Christian Village Church officiating.

Memorials may be offered to Risen Sun Christian Village.
