OPINION TRIBUNE
DATED JANUARY 3, 1957:

Funeral services were held Wednesday at the First Christian Church for John L. Hunt, who died December 31 in Omaha at Clarkson Hospital after a two year illness.

Rev. William Lee officiated. Music was provided by Dwight Keith, Garreld Baker, Richard Osterholm and Shirley Lincoln, Jr. with Mrs. Max Stewart as organist. Mrs. Ralph Mayberry and Mrs. Dorsey Roll had the guest book.

Casket bearers were Wayne Razer, George Mort, Orville Topp, Chris Detlef, Bernard Bateman and Richard Shepard. Flower bearers were Mrs. Richard Shepard, Mrs. George Mort, Mrs. Wayne Hilton, Mrs. Orville Topp, Mrs. Bernard Bateman and Mrs. Franklin C. Fisher.

Last resting place was Silver City Cemetery, Silver City, Ia.

John Lyle, son of Charles and Cora Hunt, was born at Silver City, Iowa, March 9, 1901. He grew to manhood at Silver City where he attended the Silver City schools. As a young man he moved to Council Bluffs where he became a member of the First Christian Church.

In 1929 he moved back to the farm, living near Malvern and Glenwood the rest of his life except for a year spent in Omaha. Most of his life he was engaged in farming, which he dearly loved.

Preceding him in death, were his infant son, Melvin, his father, one brother and two sisters.

Surviving are his wife, Eunice, his sons, Robert V. of Council Bluffs, John Lyle of Great Lakes Training Station, Marlin at home; daughters, Mrs. Dallas Moore of Council Bluffs, Marylin at home; two step-daughters Mrs. Dorothy Debolt of Council Bluffs and Mrs. Carol Rasmussen of Omaha; one step-son, Ronald, at home; his mother, Mrs. Cora Hunt, of Malvern; brothers, Eddie Hunt of Red Oak, Bacil of Oakland, Ia., Burdette of Glenwood, George of Henderson, and one sister, Mrs. Marjorie Blackman of Malvern; also nephews and nieces.
