DATED MARCH 6, 1996:

Osie Hetzel Schiermeier, 88, of Tabor died Feb. 25, 1996 at Grape Community Hospital in Hamburg. Funeral services were Thursday at the Crawford-Marshall Funeral Chapel in Tabor. Burial was at the Tabor Cemetery with Rev. Linda Baldock officiating.

Mrs. Schiermeier was born June 17, 1907, to Jesse Hummel and Etta Pearl (Shamblen) Hummel near Imogene. She married Theodore Franklin Hetzel on March 10, 1928, in Council Bluffs. she later married William Schiermeier on Feb. 14, 1970. Osie was a member of the Tabor United Methodist Church; United Methodist Women, Shady Grove Club; and the Tabor Garden Club. She graduated from the Malvern High School and lived her entire life in the Mills/Fremont area.

She was preceded in death by both husbands; her parents; two brothers, Franklin and Freddie Hummel; and one sister, Vera Swenson. Survivors include her daughter, Lois Arp, and husband, Alvin of Council Bluffs; three sons, Wayne Hetzel and wife, Mary Patricia, Joe Hetzel and wife, Ila Fern, all of Tabor, and Jesse Hetzel and wife, Marlys of Malvern; 12 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; one sister, Ruth Hummel of Chicago, Ill.; sister-in-law, Nellie Hummel of Sidney; brother-in-law, Frank Swenson of Colorado; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Memorials will go to the Tabor United Methodist Church, the Tabor Rescue Squad, or the Tabor Historical Society.

Crawford-Marshall Funeral Chapel was in charge of arrangements.
