GLENWOOD OPINION TRIBUNE
DATED APRIL 5, 1972:

Aileen Marjorie May, daughter of Ernest and Marie Lohse Boyce, was born on a farm northwest of Glenwood, Ia. on Aug. 6, 1919. She attended school in Mills County and graduated from the Glenwood High School in 1937. On Sept. 25, 1937, she was united in marriage to Leo Dennis May. They lived in the Glenwood area until 1943 when they moved to a farm near Silver City. Two daughters and a son were born to this union.

She was a member of the Silver City United Methodist Church and secretary of the Mills County National Farm Organization.

Mrs. May passed away Mar. 25 at her home, after several years illness. Survivors are her husband; son, Jack of Silver City, 2 daughters: Mrs. Larry (Sharon) Hays and Mrs. Mark (Mary Ann) Nightser of Council Bluffs; 4 grandchildren; mother, Mrs. Ernest Boyce of Glenwood and a sister, Mrs. Keith Bruce of Hastings, Ia. Her father preceded her in death in 1966.

Funeral services were conducted on Mar. 28 at 2 p.m. at the Silver City United Methodist Church, Re. E. LeRoy Pullman officiating, with burial at the Glenwood Cemetery. Raynor, Lett & Kent Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Clifford Boyer, Mrs. James Boyer and Mrs. Charles Stevens provided music. Mrs. Gordon Axtell cared for the Memorial book. Ushers were Jim McCollister and Leonard McMullen. Mrs. Everett Knop, Mrs. F. E. Messinger, Mrs. Garland Martin and Mrs. Harold Skerritt were flower bearers.

Casket bearers were Clifford Boyer, Everett Knop, F. E. Messinger, Ward Hunt, Garland Martin and Harold Skerritt.
