DATED FEB. 21, 1996:

Leo Dennis May, 82, of rural Silver City died Feb. 13, 1996 at Tabor Manor in Tabor. Funeral services were Friday at the Cutler Funeral Home. Burial was at Bassett Memorial Park in Barrett, Neb., with Rev. Anne Marie Aita officiating.

Mr. May was born Jan. 21, 1914, to William Leo May and Alta Margaret May in Newport, Neb. He married Aileen Marjorie Boyce on Sept. 25, 1937, in Wahoo, Neb. He grew up in Council Bluffs and graduated from Abraham Lincoln High School. Mr. May farmed in the Mineola, Pony Creek and Silver City areas. He was a member of the National Farmers Organization.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Aileen; one brother, Lyle May of Valentine, Neb.; and one sister, Blanche Jensen of Colorado Springs, Colo. Survivors include one son, Jack May of Silver City; two daughters, Sharon Hayes of Council Bluffs, and Mary Ann Nightser of Papillion, Neb; nine grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; one brother, Gerald May of Acampo, Calif.; and one sister, Dorothy Lee McMaster, of Cedar Rapids.
