GLENWOOD OPINION TRIBUNE
DATED AUGUST 3, 1928:

Funeral services for Mrs. M. A. Crouch were held Wednesday afternoon from West Oak Baptist church, Rev. J. F. Stille in charge. Music for he service was furnished by a quartet consisting of Guy Mayberry, S. M. Criswell, Mrs. George Masters and Mrs. F. A. Sullivan with Mrs. Clyde Rhoads at the piano and the body was laid to rest in the West Oak cemetery.

Mary Ann Soper was born March 25, 1859 in Tipton, Cedar County, Iowa. She was the daughter of Andrew and Sarah Soper.

She was married to M. M. Crouch September 9, 1873 at Marion, Linn County, Iowa. He passed away March 1, 1925.

To this union were born eight children, three dying in infancy. Five are left to mourn her passing: Charles H. and George A. of Glenwood; Nellie L. DeWeese of Anderson, Ind.; Mabel I. Hopkinson of Glenwood; L. Florence DeWeese of Anderson, Ind., and one sister and two brothers, Mrs. Minnie Davis of Charter Oak, Ia.; W. L. Soper of Emmetsburg, Ia.; also fourteen grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

Mrs. Crouch was taken ill August 21st, suffering a stroke of paralysis at the home of her daughter Mrs. Mabel Hopkinson in Glenwood. Her suffering was intense and she passed away Sunday, August 26 at 1:20 p.m. Everything was done that loving care could do to relieve her suffering.

Mr. and Mrs. Crouch came to Glenwood thirty years ago to make their home and here they resided until three years ago when Mr. Crouch passed away, after which Mrs. Crouch made her home with her daughter, Mrs. Florence DeWeese of Anderson, Ind. She returned to Glenwood a year ago last March and made her home with her children here in Glenwood. Beside the immediate relatives she leaves a host of friends who also mourn her passing.
