OPINION TRIBUNE
DATED AUGUST 25, 1960:Guy L. Wolfe, eldest so of John W. and Ollie Ann Wolfe, was born November 24, 1880 on the family farm northwest of Tabor, Iowa and passed away at the age of 79 years, eight months and 22 days, August 16, 1960 at Mercy hospital in Council Bluffs, Iowa.
He spent most of his life as a farmer, living near the place of his birth until his retirement some years ago. He was a member of the Christian church in which faith he reared his family. He was a good gather and neighbor, sharing in the life of the community as he could.
He leaves to mourn his passing his wife, Irene; sons Darrel, Clifford, Austin and Wilbur; daughter Barbara Lee, 14 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Also surviving are one brother John C. Wolfe; five sisters, Mrs. Jessie Ryan, Mrs. Bertha Pippitt, Mrs. Beulah Wood and Mrs. Myrtle Richmond and Mrs. Della Gowdy.
One brother, Walter, two sisters, Mrs. Alice Holmes and Mrs. Lucille Rogers and an infant son preceded him in death.
He had many friends who will miss him, and are grateful for having known him.
Services for Mr. Wolfe were held at the Raynor-Hamilton Fuenral chapel Friday, August 19, at 2 p.m. The Rev. William Lee, pastor of the Tabor Christian church officiated. Music was furnished by Max Stewart and the male quartet of the Christian church.
Casket bearers were Claude Williams, Edgar Hughes, Bob Stivers, Ben Jackson, Emil Jurgens and Bill Stivers, Sr. Flower ladies were Mrs. Fred Baker, Mrs. Gerald Rager, Mrs. Otron Kier and Mrs. Daisy Bell.
Burial will be made in the Glenwood cemetery.
Those form out of town attending the services for Mr. Wolfe were his two sisters, Mrs. Rollo Wood of Des Moines and Mrs. Bertha Pippitt of Council Bluffs; Mr. and Mrs. Ross Love of Blair, Neb.; Mrs. Mildred Beck of Blair, Neb.; William Underwood, McClelland; Mr. and Mrs. W. A. McClure, Sioux City; Mr. and Mrs. Charles Schoening and Charles Swett of Council Bluffs; Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Patton, Emerson; Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Smay, McCook, Neb.; Mr. and Mrs. Joe Kirby, Griswold; Mr. and Mrs. Don Williams, Council Bluffs; Mr. and Mrs. Granville Williams, Strhan; Mr. and Mrs. Lyle Williams and Mrs. Mae Williams, Malvern; Mr. and Mrs. Clifford McClure, Tabor; and Mrs. Geo. Kreutzer, Hopkins, Minn.
